He didn't play with traditional kid's toys, instead he found joy taking apart and fixing anything with moving parts, such as radios, speakers, carburetors, toilets, and rotary phones. At age 14, he bought his first car, a '71 Chevelle SS, which he still owns. Bode's love for muscle cars and turbocharged cars led him to rebuild and swap engines. He later developed a passion for German cars, buying a '91 BMW E30, and swapping the engine for a 2JZ. Together, they founded High-Voltage EV, fueled by their shared love for cars.

Her love for vintage sports cars was sparked as she noticed the cars her teachers drove - an orange Porsche 914, a Fjord Blue BMW 2002, and another Fjord Blue BMW 320I. After decades of dreaming, Edith decided to pursue her passion for cars and teamed up with her neighbor, Matthew Bode, to restore and electrify classic cars!
